When did the Office International des Epizooties change its name?

… In May 2003, the OIE became the World Organisation for Animal Health, while retaining the acronym “OIE”.

The interactive calendar on the OIE’s 90th Anniversary website will help you to rediscover the different stages that have marked the history of the Organisation.

Each month, you’ll be able to see key events that took place in the same month during the past 90 years.

90 years since 28 countries signed the International Agreement establishing the OIE, 90 years during which the Organisation has grown and developed and has accomplished numerous actions on behalf of animal health and welfare worldwide.

The OIE currently has 180 Member Countries, and is supported by 13 Regional and Sub-Regional Offices, and 296 Reference Laboratories and Collaborating Centres.
